Music, music, music

Check it out, tons of new music just waiting for you. We now have more than 100 songs for your enjoyment, spread across 5 different virtual venues.

Ken & Van’s Songs
Our first is made up of the songs Ken Harrell and I have written together. These are songs where we wrote the lyrics and the initial melodies, and used Suno AI (https://suno.com) to develop the final musical arrangement and create the musical and vocal perfgormance.

The Swanks
The second venue hosts a virtual string quartet called The Swanks, modeled after my Mom’s string quartet from the mid-1950s. Our disadvantage is that we can’t record copyrighted music or lyrics. Our advantage is, there are no limits to what else we can do. Want to add a harpsichord or steel drum to the performance? No problem, “Abracadabra”, there they are. And there are some fascinating combinations of instruments in the music of The Swanks.

Baroquen Record
Next, we have Baroquen Record, a larger string ensemble dedicated to the creation of new music in the style of the Baroque period. Once again, the addition of various other instruments provides the opportunity to create some unique sounds. Give it a try, you might find that your musical future lies centuries in the past!

The Four Kings
What do you think is next? A jazz quartet, named The Four Kings, that’s what! Based in the home of Mardi Gras, New Orleans, The Four Kings show what Dixieland Jazz is all about, and then some. Give us a listen, and find something new to enjoy.

Tin Can Alley
Last, yes there has to be a last band, we have Tin Can Alley, a group of steel drum (steelpan) players that have the whole world to draw their inspiration from. Russian folk music, yep. Latin dance tunes, you bet. How about a waltz? Maybe so, tune in and see. These guys live on the beach. Which beach? Any beach in the world on any given day. Enjoy something new and different with Tin Can Alley!

Next Up – Photos
I’m winding down the concentration on music, for a while. That doesn’t mean there won’t be some new music added in the months to come, but it does mean that I’ll be moving the playground from the living room, where I’ve been working Suno AI at all hours of the day and night, back into my office, where I have scanners hooked up with engines idling, ready to scan thousands of photos, some going back all the way to the early 1900s. They will be organized and added to the Photos section of my playground, a little bit at a time.

New Cat
That’s all for now. There will be an update to the book in the near future. We have a new cat, and the experiments have begun. This one is teachable. We’ll see just how far that goes, and it will be chronicled in the Cats chapter in the book.

As always, everything here is absolutely FREE! You can listen, and download, ALL of the music, photos, and videos. And, of course, the book itself.

Till next time, Van.
